ANGELICA MACALISANG

James Denman Middle School,

​Longfellow Elementary (Spring 2025) Teacher
Angelica Macalisang (she/siya) is from a low-income community in Salinas, California. Her maternal and paternal roots trace back to the sakadas, California farmworkers, and the island of Siquijor in the Visayas region of the Philippines. She earned a B.A. in Comparative Ethnic Studies and a B.S. in Animal Sciences at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She also received her M.A. in Asian American Studies at SFSU. She is deeply invested in remembering and reconnecting with her own ancestral healing lineage through familial and communal work.
