HAL MARIE SAGA

Balboa High School Teacher
Hal Marie Saga (they/she) is a Race, Ethnicity, and Health major with a minor in Labor and Employment Studies at San Francisco State University. Born in Norwalk, they were lovingly raised by their grandparents, whose greatest gifts to Saga are the oral histories of their revolutionary ancestral lineages from Gumaca City. They owe their interest in Ethnic Studies to their Great Lola, Estrella Tañada, whose autobiographical manuscript inspired Saga to pursue.

In their spare time, they enjoy creating monthly playlists on Spotify and keeping up their streaks on TikTok.
