Janrey is a bi-coastal, first-gen, Fil-Am child of immigrants. His parents own the first-ever Filipino restaurant in Boston Proper, Pinoy Kabayan, and is the panganay, eldest, of four siblings. He is currently completing the Asian American Studies MA program at San Francisco State University with the dream of bringing Filipinx/a/o American studies back to Massachusetts.
