PEP was created at Balboa High School in response to the Filipina/o/x American students in the Excelsior District of San Francisco. It was born from a lunch time program and bloomed into the college accredited course it is today. PEP at Balboa today continues to connect aspiring teachers, community leaders, and students together through Ethnic Studies.
